Mercy And Grace Mercy And Grace: Word Document

Poem written by Elder J.A. Rowell, Sr.

Oh mercy is my only plea,
For I have nothing else to pay,
The heavy debt I owe to thee,
Oh grant me mercy, Lord I pray.

By grace the guilty sinner lives,
Though by his sins was doomed to die,
Grace intercedes, the Lord forgives,
The Saviour died to justify.

The law of Justice stood between,
The sinner and the gracious Lord,
But grace with power to intervene,
Has stayed the sin avenging sword.

When saving grace and justice met,
Together on a price agreed,
That Jesus pay the sinner's debt,
No other payment, sinners need.

Ye saints, redeemed with rapture sing,
Since Jesus paid and you are freed,
Sing glorious anthems to your King,
Now you are free and free indeed.
